Bulembu

A hectic race over mountainous road saw us getting through both the SA and Swazi borders with literally minutes to spare. Thankfully Bulembu was just 2kms after the border.

It is a pretty amazing place. Previously an asbestos mining village that closed in 2001.

A ministry group has taken the whole village over and it is thriving.

The lodge where we are based is a group of mine manager homes surrounded by a host of recreational venues, including a bowling green (complete with a cow grazing), tennis courts and a cricket ground. There is even a cinema, dilapidated but still there.

Must have been quite something in its day.
