La Butte du Lion in LEGO!

Two years, 20 people and over a million LEGO® blocks… that's what it took to put together the expo L'histoire Impériale en Briques LEGO® (The Imperial Story in LEGO® Bricks) that just opened its doors in Waterloo. The expo is there in honour of the bicentennial of the famous Battle of Waterloo where the legendary emperor Napoleon got defeated once and for all.

As this exhibition was practically on our doorstep - in a little building in our local park- we had to go. We all (us and our lovely Geordie guests) visited this morning before we all had a play in the playground. Yes, really. I've never seen 60+ year olds have so much fun on the swings!

This afternoon hubby took our guests to the Butte du Lion for real so they could experience the views. On their return we had Sunday dinner with all produce from our local market which we'd introduced them to early this morning. Before long it was time to bid a sad goodbye. Dexter was particularly upset and clingy to his Grandad (which upset my Dad as he's so soft and lovely with the kids) but it won't be long until we see them again when we visit Newcastle.

A thoroughly enjoyable few days with them all.
