little feet on the beach

It was a great day today...
Little un slept well as she only woke a few times and slept in till 7:30
We did have a battle over getting dressed this morning and on this occasion I had to overrule her and make her presentable, because we were being visited by her foster carers and the social workers.  

The idea of this visit was to reinforce to Little un that her foster carers still exist and also that they know and approve of where she is now, and give their permission for her to be here... Another trick we've been using is the photo book... in the same way that we made a book of ourselves before intros, the foster carers have given a book of photo's so that little un can still see their faces and have continuity... Even so, no one was quite sure how today's visit would go.  Would it upset tiddler? would she be clinging to them when they left the house?  But it was great. She was relaxed and happy throughout the visit, the foster carers were reassured and the parting went well, with only the smallest of lower lip trembles...
We then went to the beach this afternoon to enjoy the rare Scottish sunshine... her second ever visit to the sea and her first time barefoot in the sand... I was also overjoyed to find that she likes sun lotion... I was so scared that she'd burn,  but when I started slapping on the factor 50 she kept asking for more... 

All in all she's been an little star today :-)
