Honister Pass

This photo was taken just as Sarah and I were setting out for our day's walk. The hostel where we are staying is at the top of Honister Pass, next to the slate mine. This view is looking down the pass towards Buttermere, and the hill in the distance is called Robinson.
Our walk today was across to Haystacks and then up High Crag, High Stile and Red Pike and down to Buttermere. I caught the bus back and Sarah ran  over the hills (on the right of this photo). As you can see, it was a beautiful summer's day.
Once everyone else at the hostel had gone to bed, we snuck out and stood on the highest point of the pass and watched the Perseid meteor shower.
Magic.
