Today's harvest.

Tonight we picked over three pounds of Blackberries glistening in the evening light, with a special fruit-picker (a bag on the end of a pole) all these luscious Figs, handfuls of three types of Beans and a mass of Harvest Plums brought down in the thunderstorms we had through last night and up to lunchtime today. Sadly the atrocious weather also caused a very old Plum tree to lose a big branch which will not be shading our picnic table in the future. I don't know how we can replace such a loss, trees grow so very slowly and this one has given us hundreds of pounds of delicious Plums since we came here in 1976 (it was an old tree then) and hours of very much needed shade too.
