Shears Inn, Halifax

The Shears Inn is one of the most difficult pubs to find in Halifax - but well worth the effort.  Hidden away down narrow cobbled streets in the shadow of an enormous Mill complex, you would be forgiven to conclude that you had taken the wrong turn and were lost.
It claims to have been first established in 1664 and is therefore the oldest pub in Halifax.
Its address is Paris Gates - which is a corruption of the original Parish Gates.  I much prefer the 'French' version.
