Highveld Winter

The dryness of winter is evident in this pic of the area around Sedaven Dam in the Suikerbosrand NR south of Johannesburg.

My drive today was extremely peaceful, with very enjoyable birding.  I will most certainly avoid weekend visits in future. For the whole day, I was only aware of 2 other visitor vehicles and a lone cyclist on the 66km drive through the reserve.

This is my first post in almost a month - I think the feeling of being "blipped out" creeps up on you unawares. Hopefully I am over it now.
