A Scotch Summer
Apparently, it's now Summer.
Back in 1857, John Aiton put quill to paper and produced A manual of domestic economy: for clergymen and other professional men of limited income.
In it he described Summer in Scotland thus: "Our Scotch summers are said to consist of 3 hot days and a thunder-storm." Methinks he was exaggerating the number of good days!
