Eagle

Today's gala was at Collin, just outside Dumfries, and the Samba Sisters gave a rocking performance followed by a workshop for folk who wanted to try their hand at drumming.
I don't like seeing birds in captivity, but I was glad to have the opportunity to meet a Golden Eagle at such close quarters. This magnificent bird is only 21 weeks old, but already fully grown. As you can see from the scar on his handler's face, he can be aggressive when hungry, despite being hand-reared.
Collin is just down the road from Drummuir farm, so we finished our afternoon with ice cream.
