Extra photo (added later) is a stiched panorama of the Beauly Firth, as seen from the Kessock Bridge this evening. A much bigger version here, in which you might make out people fishing on both sides of the firth. You can also see the recently added cardinal buoy that sits almost in the middle of the channel. It's very likely been placed there so as to try and cut down the number of sailors (of small craft) that attempt to cut the corner when heading to/from the nearby Caledonian Canal's sea lock at Clachnaharry... there have been a few! For example.
