Peace Garden

We're in the border region between France and Germany. I didn't realise how much fighting there's been here over the centuries. There are lots of bunkers, forts and cemeteries scattered around, telling tales of occupation and war. Bitche is a small town with a huge fort on the hill in the middle. We didn't go in there, but I spent a few hours in this Peace Garden which has been created in the strip of land running along the bottom of the hill.
