Passed its use by date!
A rather overgrown gate. Last year I spent hours pulling all this stuff off. It has an extensive root system and is hard to eradicate. But it does like to grow on fences. This is the honeyvine milkweed, Cynanchum laeve.
Another warm day. The first of the triplets went off to college today. I spoke to her on FaceTime and she showed me her room, which is part of a 4-plex. It really is very nice and a far cry from the quarters we had in college Her sisters go next Thursday and the 27th , respectively. Alll to different places. Two in Kansas and one in Iowa.
I have actually got the extra to workl. This is witchgrass or ticklegrass which is growing where it should not be, among the phlox, and will have to come out! Its proper name is Panicum capillare. These bristle-like heads will drop off when it matures, and blow about like tumbleweed.
