Labyrinths

The kids had a "Mindfulness" Day at school. Never one to miss an opportunity to remind folk that mindfulness isn't a New Age phenomenon, I volunteered to lead a labyrinth session.
It worked really well (to my surprise). After finger labyrinths, and drawing individual small versions, a team would work out how to make a big version. There was no way these energetic kids were going to walk meditative around them, but even the jog round it brought interesting results.
Kids reported feeling calm, having moments of confusion then feeling okay because they know there was only one way in and out. One wild kid amazingly reported feeling small. Others calmed their behaviour and joined in with the activities. I was impressed.
