The Dinner that Never Cooked

6.15 pm on a Saturday evening.
Aubergine, onion, potato, green and red peppers, sweet potato - all ready to be roasted in the oven, to accompany two small pork chops. 
Oven on to 200C.
Meanwhile, a quick ironing session.
Gradually it dawned on me that the oven had not heated to more than 150C.
The oven clock was not visible!
The iron felt suddenly rather cool!
Yes, we had no power! JF went round to neighbour to check it was not just us - they seemed to know all about it, and he was told that the power would be back on by 9pm. So here are a few power lines that were standing idle!
And dinner? Cheese and biscuits!! :((
