Mid-conference

Traditionally, the Wednesday of a weeklong conference is a short day – with free time in the afternoon. Unfortunately for me, this was also the only possibility to have a doctor check that the cold that I picked up was not, in fact, pneumonia. Luckily it is not, but I did get a (apparently) Swiss experience of having to wait 2 hours in the waiting room with a mouth cover, which is standard here if you are coughing. I am sure I looked a little scary to my fellow patients. Anyway, after an all clear from the doctor, I spent a relaxing afternoon at the shores of the lake, but a real South-African BBQ (long story) and a lot of old friends! (see extra picture)
