Birthday Boy...
Alan woke up in the best of moods, keen to embrace his birthday, which is unusual as he generally hates being the centre of attention and having a fuss made.
Before lunch he was keen to open all his cards and once pressie, the rest he decided to keep for later (which is Alan speak for later in the week as it's all a but overwhelming for him opening them at once).
Ele and I nipped over to the clubhouse to have lunch with Kenny and David when they'd finished their round of golf (the least said about how they played, the better!) then back home to get the sandwiches and cakes organised in time for Alan's afternoon birthday tea.
Just us, Uncle Kenny Auntie Ele, Grandpa and Norma and Auntie Agnes with his cousin Andrew and girlfriend Nikki joining us later on. Very low key as Alan wanted (actually when asked who he wanted to come, he just chose Norma! :-))
A lovely relaxed afternoon spent eating, chatting and laughing and in the blink of an eye, it had turned into early evening. John, Norma and Agnes left around 7.30 and the rest of us had takeaway for dinner. Andrew and Nikki left around 10.30 and Ele and Kenny stayed over.
A really lovely day that I am so glad Alan got to enjoy.
Happy Birthday Golden Delicious. I never thought it was possible to love you any more but with each passing year, I do xxx
