Wedding Day.
We were so privileged to be asked to our sons friends wedding. We have known him since they started senior school together. They have always remained best of friends. It was the most beautiful, incredible and perfect wedding I have ever been to. From start to finish it was superb.
The reception was held in Claire's garden. The setting, food drink, guests, dj, band etc it was all just brilliant.
When we went to say goodbye to Mark he said something that bought a tear to my eye. He said we were like his second mum and dad. He knew that he could always come to us and we would look after him. He said he will never forget the time when we had him for christmas and bought him presents because he was going through a bit of a hard time at home. That his best childhood memories and while he was growing up all revolve around our home and times he spent here with all the boys.
It kept coming back to us though varies lads last night at how special our home was to them when they were growing up. How much they loved being here.
All those years with boys coming and going, my trips to the supermarket for yet more food as more were staying, the extra ironing I'd do for them to go out, the freedom we gave them while being safe....every second of it has been worthwhile...I wouldn't have changed it for the world.
