Congratulations to our graduates!

Many of you know that I am a librarian and I work at our State Library. I am very fortunate that I am able to institute pilot programs that we hope will benefit our community members.

This year we awarded 125 scholarships to students who never finished high school and gave them the opportunity to earn their high school diploma online. The program is run through their local library, so the students have the added support of library staff who are there to help them succeed.

Today the library held a graduation ceremony for their first two grads. Each of them had dropped out of school years ago but took advantage of this opportunity to complete their education.
