Not for much longer?

This is a shot of three generations doing something which must have been done for hundreds of years but may not go on much longer perhaps.
I had to be careful not to show the children so you will have to take my word for the three generations.
What are they doing? Answer tomorrow if no one gets it. The only clue: you haven't a hope if you don't know the north.

The extra is Chloe in an osprey's nest - but don't worry she isn't providing food for the chicks; this has been created by the Forestry Commission in Dodd Wood to show the size and untidiness of the nests.
