The Time Before Morning
The phone went at 5:30 this morning.
It was the fire alarm monitoring service for an elderly neighbour for whom we are a backup contact. A false alarm (thankfully) but it did mean getting up to meet the fire brigade when they turned up shortly afterwards.
Thus, the day has been an odd one. As it was a rather nice sunrise we wandered about the garden for a bit and this view east towards Bredon Hill was looking promising.
Some hours later we cooked the breakfasts, and have had a day in the garden - making more bonfire piles of major prunings; especially after our conversations yesterday about how to take forward some areas of the garden.
Laurel - it may be 15ft high, but it's still a weed.
