Tom Weir, MBE

This statue is amazing - it is so realistic.
It stands at Balmaha and recognises a man who loved the mountains and the Scottish outdoors. He was a broadcaster too.

Prior to our visit here, we climbed the 'Whangie' or Queen's view just outside Milngavie, on the Stockiemuir Road. Beautiful views and an easy climb. Added bonus was the masses of blueberries we collected on the way down, and then turned into a blueberry tart!
