The Edge of the Wold

Treats at sunset

The biggest treat of all for Gus was escaping from the car after a 6 hour drive home.  He was clearly thrilled to be back in his home environment.  We arrived on the prom in Arnside 15 minutes before sunset, just after the sun had dropped out of the cloud cover.  Here he is at the first treat stop on his regular estuary walk, gently accepting a treat from Wifie.

The plan had been to be set off this morning, but a domestic mishap in the Old Flyer's house caused us several hours delay.  The roads were busy, but they flowed us home uneventfully.  Thoughts though tonight are with Ed and Anna, Oliver and Chloe - as Anna is in hospital with pneumonia.

Tomorrow I will post a blip of yesterday, and the dogmeet between Gus and Murphy.  The occasion also involved an excellent  and long-awaited blipmeet with Redflash and Mr F, and a rather fine looping walk from Lepe Park which finished with a cup of tea and New Forest Ice Cream.  Definitely a dog/blipmeet to be repeated.

My apologies for the absence of comments these last few days, and thank you for all your kind comments and good wishes for the Old Flyer.   It was good to have a few days with him, he enjoyed the company, and particularly seeing Wifie and Gus who have not been with me on a visit since last year.  I shall catch up as the week goes on.
