Butcherbird
There’s been a noted absence of Butcherbirds in my garden over recent years, but I’ve noticed them starting to reappear over the last couple of weeks. They have a lovely lilting song that belies their aggressive predatory nature, but I’ve never actually seen them attack other birds, in fact, the Noisy Miners tend to scare them away. If you look really closely you can see a pronounced hook on its bill, guess we know what that’s for!
