A view from Jeanneb

I'm coming!

A lovely morning walk crossing the edge of Harden Moor and descending to Long Lee above Keighley. (This was the walk we were supposed to do on Friday but put off because of the bad weather)

Lots of colour on the moor, the heather is now well and truly in bloom and the berries are well coloured on the Mountain Ash/ Rowan trees but the colour that caught my eye as we left the car park was the bright pink of the Rose Bay Willow Herb. Weed they may be (except in Alaska!) they certainly add great colour at this time of year.

The sky was dappled with light cloud at first but the sun was soon through and it was very warm.

We passed through the village of Thwaites Brow sitting on the steep hill above the Worth Valley and skirted the edge of houses, woods and the cricket field until we reached open fields and this farm. From here it was all climb back up to the St Ives Estate.

Poor Toby got a bit left behind and we had to wait for him to come up the hill. (To be fair he had stopped for a drink but he is getting on a bit.) I know how he feels I often get left behind when I stop to take photographs!

I hope you can spot him down the lane. Beyond is the Aire Valley flanked by Riddlesden on the opposite hillside to the left and the village East Morton on the far right. Above here is the edge of Bingley Moor where we were walking 2 weeks ago.

Spent the rest of the morning in the garden and Chris got the grass cut at last. Ironing done too.
All looking shipshape for a little while!
A good start to the week.
