Farm business
N and I moved some cattle this morning from a field that had nothing left as far as good grass was concerned to another smaller one for a couple of days. We then went to meet the man in charge of clearing the overgrowth on the banks of the railway. The railway are very good as they do their own fencing and pay for it themselves. We have had a couple of incidences in the past with cattle clambering up the steep bank onto the line and it is quite frightening!
When we arrived home B was waiting for us. He has an amazing business selling recycled or reburbished combine harvesters all over the world from Malta to South America and New Zealand to India and Nigeria and so it goes on. A lot of his business used to be in Syria but that has completely finished now. We bought one off him about seven years ago and his firm had just serviced it ready for this harvest.
N is out combining well into the night as rain is forecast. I took down a flask of tea and collected the dog who had been accompanying him in the cabin all afternoon.
