what a cheat...but so much happened today, I had to do a montage. really lovely last day - hot with a cold wind. beth read her book all day so the rest of us went off up all the hills to explore a bit. we found a wee minecraft house and saw a lovely black dragonfly. then back at ella, the two lovely fisherman in the caravan opposite gave us two freshly caught and cooked crabs. they were the best thing I've tasted in ages... then we went off to the beach with the boat. it was really busy and while we were out paddling about we noticed someone was getting cpr on the beach. an older man had collapsed in the sea and after about 45 minutes of working on him, the paramedics and local docs gave up, he had died. the whole beach was willing him to be ok, it was very sad. turns out he was a local artist - john fielder, 85 years old and well known in the area. it was very weird gradually watching the beach come back to life as time moved on, as if nothing had happened. but everyone who witnessed him dying was I'm sure thinking of him and his wife for the rest of that beautiful day.
we went fishing at night - me and peggy caught a flatfish and mackerel each, then bee went on to catch loads of mackerel and was happy. the midgies were eating us alive though, so me and pegs had to get out of there. our ace holiday ended with a walk along the beach in the dark watching the millions of stars and spotting loads of shooting stars. what a place to go - john fielder fairly chose well. what an ace holiday.
