gravy days

After a whirl around the London Eye, we ambled along the South Bank. There are far more street entertainers than I remember.
This chap was doing rather well, with three buckets healthily on the go, and deservedly so I think.  A little different from the human statues and jugglers.
Not far beyond is the Millennium Bridge, which was originally nicknamed the Wibbly Wobbly bridge, due to its lack of stability.  On the approach was a begger, who sat there reading a book. He had 3p in his bucket. I wondered if his time would have been more productively spent learning or practising some kind of skill, so that he too could entertain the passers by, and maybe make a little more than a few coppers.
Easier said than done I suppose. Nevertheless, it was a stark reminder that in this life you are more likely to get more from doing more.
