Non-Newtonian Substance

This morning No2 son and the boy from down the road were looking for "a cool and fun science experiment"...when they stumbled upon oobleck on youtube...so we made some :0)

they thought it was amazing, "a liquid and a solid at the same time, how could this be possible" :0)  they made me make more so they could both have some and they played with it for ages.  

When they were done they poured it back into the bowl, stacked up their trays and departed leaving me wondering how I was going to attempt the giant splatter clean up that looked to be such a huge task...I should have blipped that.
Surprisingly it was really quick and easy, it just melted away when I wiped it...cool!

Guess what the kids at church will be doing on Wednesday evening :0)

if you've never tried it:
1 part water 
1.5 - 2 parts cornstarch

i)  Add the cornstarch to the water until it seems like it has gone solid when you tap the surface with the spoon.
