Found another one!
A busy day. We travelled to Carlisle by train and made for Tullie House Museum. Lunch, then we explored a wonderful exhibition currently on show - Eye for Colour. This is a completely hands-on event that fascinated, entertained and informed adults and children alike.
Then the children joined in a special activity, which involved hunting for mini-beasts in the lovely Tullie House Gardens and taking them to be looked at with a microscope. The eight year old in particular was very enthusiastic. The blip picture is her finding yet another specimen and the extra picture captures her fascination with seeing it enlarged on screen.
We caught the train back and now they are all on their way home. The house is peaceful, but way too quiet. All tidying up will be done tomorrow!
