Tess is nervous and excited and couldn't readily find sleep tonight. Full of cold but determined to wear her mum down to straighten her hair, she spent an evening repeatedly saying she was looking forward to tomorrow. Alas, my youngest has also succumbed to that fateful inevitably of life......developing a single but attention seeking spot on the tip of her nose in time for her first day of S1. It surely is her first instance of the phenomenon we all know too well, the massive pluke that usually appears out of nowhere on the eve of the big interview, the first (second or third) wedding, the big night out, that very important date, the once in a lifetime TV appearance...I could go on. But we reckon it will have been vanquished overnight, leaving her spot free but snot full to take on Meldrum Academy with no fear.

Meanwhile Sam is grieving for the sudden cessation of week day lie-ins.
