Rooting around.....
On the usual morning stroll around the local market today there were lots of things to spy.....and possibly buy!
One stall was offering shoes and sandals, 3 for £10 they said.....I was quite tempted, you know me! Love shoes! But thankfully the words 'quality, not quantity' ran through my mind! Ha!
Further down into the market there is the second hand section, my favourite section, where in the past a good few Karaoke sessions have been known to take place ;)
I have now been banned from buying anymore old books or records as there is just no room to put them all. One day I will have a big house with lots and lots of rooms and this ban will be lifted.....and you might even see me on TV, on one of those shows where they talk about hoarders haha!
However, there is a 'special' stall that sells shoes and bags, and on the rare occasion I have spotted with my beady eye a vintage designer shoe or two. I have managed to bag myself only the one pair up until now as the average size sold here is a seven. Not small feet friendly this place but fantastic if you love a rummage! Plus no one would dare ban me from here!
It was a funny day, whilst in the charity shop the boy overheard two old geezers eyeing me up, I won't repeat what they said but something along the lines of "Cor Blimey Guv".....and the way he relayed it to me was classic! They did seem like two very sweet old guys when I saw them earlier though ;) Then just before lunch, I was strolling, looking, smelling, breathing, a guy passed by me (holding his own child I think) and started singing in my ear!!!
What? I have no idea what he said but my reaction was what????
I love this place! Especially when the sun is shining, all the strange folk come out to play ;)
Recently there was a program made about this street but they portrayed it so negatively, ending with the conclusion that there was no love or community here! But they were wrong! Just like everywhere, there are both good and bad elements, you can't escape that, but it is the eclectic mix here that keeps me coming back.
Oh and this camera caught my eye, it was for sale along with a few other older pieces.....I was good and left it there, for someone else to enjoy ;)
