Studded ...
... the family lived here many moons ago ...
A sad, fleeting visit to the Isle of Man for my great aunt's funeral. A lovely send off for her ... she was an extraordinary lady, awarded a PhD during the war (her thesis was about finding a cure for malaria), and loved to paint in her latter years as well as garden (the peach tree in the greenhouse is still going strong), cook, spin wool, and the gentle life on the island.
The extra photo is of Bradda Head, looking towards the Calf ... I remember climbing up there as a child ... in my mind's eye it was a monumental walk, but now it only took 20 minutes!
