Asics World Series of Beach Volleyball - Day 2

Back on the beach watching my favorite team play their first pool match against a team from Germany. Even though Summer Ross (shown here blocking way above the net) and her partner Lane Carico had to get into the main draw via the qualifying round yesterday, they beat the ranked German team in two sets. 

I had the pleasure of using some loaned equipment from Canon. This was shot with a massive 200-400mm f/4 IS Extender 1.4x which weighs about 20 pounds and costs in excess of $10,000 usd. A bit scary to be carrying it around, but fortunately at this venue I am surrounded by photographers with lots of expensive gear (though I haven't seen any lens as large as this one).
