The Big House on the Corner

I walked down the next street to yesterday and saw this big house on the corner and liked the turret effect.  The interesting thing I noticed today was although these houses have red bricks on the front if you look at the side of the buildings they are a kind of old beige colour.  I am not into old buildings so didn't know if they were done like this at the time or whether they were altered at a later date.  I am presuming they are Victorian houses but again I may be wrong.  The weather wasn't all that enticing and it did rain later in the afternoon and was rather humid.  I went out to the cafe this afternoon with my little laptop just to get out for a while.
