Witches fruit ...

Walking home from school this evening ( decided to be energetic) I noticed loads of Rowan trees covered with bright berries - old wives tales say it means a hard winter coming but the scientist in me struggles with that. How can a tree predict the weather ?
I think Rowans were considered a tree dear to witches in olden times.
Walk was lovely ......golden fields of wheat, wild flowers, thistle seeds and sunshine. Perfect :)
