The bridge at Blenheim

I went to Blenheim on New Year's Day. I love walking in the grounds at the start of the year. And I'm always moved by this sight of the bridge over the water. As you can see, it was a grey overcast day but it was also very romantic: you could easily imagine some swaggering 18th century figure riding slowly across the bridge and staring at you, the visitor, in such a way as if to ask "What do you want of me?" swiftly followed by "What are you doing on my land?"
