Osprey

It feels very rewarding to see my kingfisher at #1 spot on the popular page. Thank you to everyone who took time to comment and leave stars / hearts, I really appreciate it.

After an early finish from work Lesley and I decided to drive up to Ogston Reservoir to try to see the osprey. We were lucky and saw the pair of them that have been hanging around for weeks. The cold weather next week may be the signal for them to start their long migration to west Africa.

It is a real treat having osprey in Derbyshire. The successful re introduction to Leicestershire's Rutland Water has led the enthusiasts at Ogston to build a nesting platform under the supervision of the Rutland experts. We are now hoping this pair like the surroundings enough to come back and nest next year.
