Fond Farewells
What a week it has been. My blip from Sunday last week, ended up being a fond farewell on Friday.
Dear Dave was a Yorkshiremen by birth, but had choosen NZ as his home and got married to one of us.
He faught a 3 month battle with lung cancer, that we had hoped the end would not happen this quickly.
He had a very witty sence of humour and we could give each other heaps of grief and knew we had each other sumed up.
Many a Saturday night saw his wife and I convincing him to burn something for us to take photos of.
It was an honor to be part of your extended NZ family this week and to hear the lovely tributes from your UK based family.
And who can forget, singing "We all live in a yellow submarine".
