Expressions

It was really the last evening of the estivales today. Sadly, after a brilliant summer the weather was not ideal, in fact it started to drizzle at precisely l'heure de l'apéro. It put a bit of a damper on the judging of the photo competition, but luckily there were enough people around to make the popular vote just about viable. The same young lad managed to snaffle second prize, but at least an adult won the first prize.

Afterwards the rain miraculously cleared up; it was overcast but not  cold, so aperos and grilled sausages in the square were reinstated and the dedicated fêtards were all present and correct. So it ended up being a pleasant evening of socialising among neighbours. As you can see they were having a whale of a time :)
