Nice place to sit and stare
5 people and one dog on a walk around St Ives this morning, culminating in a welcome coffee at Airedale Knitter's and a viewing of her lovely new kitchen (I so want that larder!) - thank you J. Warm and muggy, but a good way to start the day. Missed church again - getting back just about service time - don't think they would have appreciated me in muddy boots! Liked this bench by the lake - lovely place to sit and contemplate. We should always take time out to relax and unwind. Reminded me of this poem:-
"What is this life if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare" - William Henry Davies
