Harvest Time

The apples on the Royal Laxton tree I planted in the spring are maturing nicely.  I think it will be a few weeks yet before I can eat them but I am looking forward to tasting them.  The recent rain will be doing them some good.  Elsewhere in the garden, the tumbling tomatoes are ripening at a good pace but the larger plum tomatoes are still very green.  I have never tried fried green tomatoes but may be this is my opportunity?

A beautiful still dawn which threw pink light across the sky, followed by heavy rain, and now, this afternoon, warm sunshine with a stiff breeze.
