Pont Fawr Bridge, Llanwrst, Snowdonia.

We came back to South Wales today and stopped for a cup of tea at Tu Hwnt I'r Bont tearooms (which was once the town courthouse) and from the car park, I took this shot of the single track Pont Fawr bridge. It was designed by Inigo Jones and built in 1636 by Sir John Wynn of Gwydir Castle. The bridge was built to connect the town to Sir John's Manor House which was built in 1492. Another point of interest is that St. Grwst's Church in this little town holds the remains of Llywelyn the Great in his 13th century stone coffin.  A lovely little place to visit
