Up above the clouds

Today I went on a tour of the eastern end of the island. We started by going up to Pico do Areeiro which, at 1810 metres is the highest point on the island. We passed through the clouds and came out in to the sunshine on top. Apparently this is common. Certainly every day I've been here there was a cloud sitting on top of the mountains overlooking Funchal while it was sunny down at sea level.
