White Wings

It didn't look like the best day for for a butterfly survey, but I decided to go for it anyway, as it was overdue. Strange weather which I wouldn't have believed possible - hot and sticky, but also very windy. I saw more butterflies than I imagined I would - mostly Green-veined Whites which look so elegant close up, but also a solitary scruffy Meadow Brown and a couple of fresh Speckled Woods. Inevitably, the rain arrived later.
