Evening Grosbeaks
The whole grosbeak clan was present today on the deck. There was a black headed female and a bunch of evening grosbeaks. The two I photographed are a very young female in front and a young male in back. The front one was making begging motions toward the male. He was pretty much ignoring her.
The smoke from the Eastern Washington fires is thick today. I'm posting a photo in extras to show you our view this morning. Yikes. Not good. And so not good for the folks living in the east. I wish them well and hope the fires are fully out soon. They are better under control according to this morning's paper.
We are going to an Alzheimer's Society party this afternoon. I love how our support group has moved to social in addition to our meetings. Today it is Kathi who is putting on the party. We'll have one at our house some time soon.
The corn feed was fun. Our friends had tables set up under their orchard trees and lots of people brought food to go with the corn. After we ate we all went to the big barn where Frank has his piano collection. He had a lovely Steinway out and lots of chairs for a sing along and concert. Much fun indeed.
