in the glen

We decided to take a drive out together today for the first time in ages. West Cork was glorious in the sunshine.
We went to Glengarriff woods and ambled along the lazy languid river, all green light and sluggishly circling flies and vivid reflections. The dogs loved playing in the water.
Then lunch in the village, sitting out in the sun, while our plan for our anniversary weekend next week finally took shape. 

This evening I chatted to my sister, and to the girl, and finally finished the hand-sewing and embroidery on the quilt.  Next to put it all together.
