Haikography

Stunted Silver Birch,
Bend gracefully with the breeze,
Even when it is still.

A mixture of weather today, sun in the morning, rain from luctime until about 4pm then glorious sunshine into the evening.

We had a visitor over to the caravan for a leisurely lunch and a sit outside in the sun (although she had to bring her own cutlery as we don't have enough in the van ...).

Then we went up to the Fire Hills at Fairlight to take Sadie for a run.  Just so beautiful up there, the sea was as blue as the Mediterranean (although I am guessing a little cooler).

Apparently they are called "Fire hills' because of the propensity of the gorse to catch light. I prefer to think that it is because when the yellow gorse is in bloom it looks like the hills are on fire.

In any event it is a beautiful place with wonderful views along the coast and across the land.

Looking east is the swooping bay leading round past Winchelsea and Rye  to Dungeness  and beyond (a good 20 miles away).

On the way back we stopped to admire the view from the beacon on top of the hill leading down to Fairlight (see extras).

A really lovely relaxing day .... We pack up our towalong home and head back to reality in the morning....
