We visited the Death Trenches little outside Diksmuide along the river IJzer where the Belgium trenches of 1915 and onwards have been conservated and realised into an open air museum. Volunteers dress up and act their days like being a soldier of the Great War ~ bringing the museum alive and apart from telling details of history they also bring closer to the visitors the sense of a Great War soldier's life
