Purple Sunbird
Firstly, yes, it really is a Purple Sunbird, this is the female, the male wears the sparkly irradecent purple and blue feathers. The female is the one you rarely see, she's fast and very camouflaged against the flowering bushes she usually flits about on, looking for flowers and nectar. The male however packs a huge singing voice and a very showy display, from his platform at the top of a tree with the sunshine bouncing off his gorgeous metallic looking feathers and he's tiny!
