It died
Halfway through the day I decided that the camera sounded a little different. It was okay a few minutes earlier but the sound had very slightly changed.
I don't review images when I'm working unless I have a reason to. Occasionally I will review just to check the exposure and light, as in low and dark light I'm beginning to push 1/3rd stop to brighten the image a little bit.
But in general I don't spend the day staring at the screen on the back.
A quick check to make sure the camera was ok, and nope, it wasn't. Last 200 shots have a big issue. Looks like part of the shutterblades have come lose, so during an exposure, 1/3rd of the shot is covered up.
Can't even say I swore at the camera either, it has done between 820,000 and 840,000 exposures, it's more than made its money back for me, and the backup camera is back at he hotel in a box waiting to go into action.
I will get a final count for the camera in the next few days.
I probably won't get this camera repaired, nor will I sell it. It has earned its place in the cabinet.
